Out of randomness

August 4, 2009

Went back to basketball recently. Whole body started aching a few hours later.. till today! Guess this is what you get when your body’s not fully conditioned to the court! Dang, better having aches now rather than later when you’re old, immobile and brittle.

So what’s up with me? If it’s not studies, it’s work, else sleeping/eating or spending time with Sooks. There’s hardly any time left for anything else. Apart from that life’s pretty good. At least there’s progress!

On the bleak side; My car aerial got stolen recently while I was at SS15. Please take note (City 3 and 4G owners).. The part is DETACHABLE and costs between RM70-85 to replace. Well unless you plan to steal it from another unsuspecting owner and risk getting caught.. It’s better to be safe than sorry to take it out when not in use.

Dusting the Cobwebs

April 29, 2009

My time schedule has changed drastically ever since I moved to Cyberjaya. Considering I work less days, it only means more hours during the days which I’m on shift. I’ve been having the tendency of waking up late in the afternoons (around 12-1pm) right after my 3 day stretch of 12 hour shifts straight. Body probably drained out of it’s resources or it just requires reconditioning I guess?

Work has been okay so far, am pretty grateful of having good colleagues to work with together with a job which helps me excel in the career path. Time passes really fast as well despite the long hours due to this. Only thing which worries me is my health. Gotta start exercising again although it’s just minimal. Already 25 this year and a whole slew of commitments are waiting in line. Just a matter of 9 months and everything was just miraculously planned out.. Now comes the fulfilling part :S Hopefully no major screwups won’t come along the way.

Spent the past half hour planning out all my expenses for the next month. Can’t understand how some people just blow their money like no tomorrow on unnecessary expenditure despite the current situation. Don’t see myself doing something like that for a long time. Minor indulgences are more than enough to make myself content for now while working towards something which would happen in the next 2 to 3 years :)

Aaahh.. Enough talk for now. Time to gear up for ISCW!

Are you Indispensable?

February 26, 2009

I’ve been surfing around alot on forums and been hearing lots of stories about retrenchment and pay cuts. It’s at times like these when you seriously tend to question your own capabilities on where you currently stand in the job market and what you’re currently worth to the company.

Most companies which I’ve heard have started the trend of Last-In-First-Out or a mass freshie hiring spree while giving large pay cuts up to 20% to their senior staff. They disagree with whatever that has been upheld? They can opt to hand in their resignation. Looking at the situation, you just can’t help but get worried about what’s going to happen next during these times of uncertainty.

Cling on to your job, move forward and excel people!

2009 – Year of Fulfillment

January 18, 2009

I’ve been through the whole process of active job seeking since last October. No doubt the economy was in pretty bad shape to even consider job hopping but I seriously felt that I needed a boost as well as to live a more fulfilling career path.

After a total of 4 months, 43 job applications, countless interviews, offers, negotiations usually ending up with rejections, I finally managed to match myself with one which I found desirable early this month.

Distance to work would definately be alot further compared to the current one since I’ll be located in Cyberjaya. Will also be working on staggered shifts and following a totally different calendar this time but that’s all good for me since I’ve always been following a different timezone for the past 10 months. To sum it all up, good things really do come for those who wait eh? On the downside, it’s back to the whole generic formal attire yet again. Just when I was starting to get used to dressing up casually :P

2008 was more of a transition on finding what I really wanted in life. Lots of pondering and searching was done before I made some clear decisions. Some of them were really hard to pull off but I sure am glad that I didn’t hold them back or things wouldn’t have ended up the way they are today.

Life really started to change towards the 4th quarter of the year, time just flied and things just got better and better from there :)

Resolutions have been set and made for the new year, hoping to fulfill all of them this time rather than allowing them to drift off into an empty void.

Anyway, here’s to a better year for everyone. Have a great year, quit slacking/procrastination and remember to live life to it’s fullest!

Been trying to sleep for the past three hours but no avail. Gave it up finally and came downstairs to catch up with abit of revision instead. Work starts in 1 1/2 hours time. Hopefully wouldn’t require too much caffeine to kick start my day later. Back to studying material again

I’ve had better days

November 26, 2008

Having a bad throat at work isn’t exactly the best of things to happen to you when your job requires you to communicate verbally most of the time.

Things definately are looking alot busier for me in the present although there isn’t much leisure to start with. Been cut off from gaming apart from the occasional Literati sessions when I do occasionally to distract my mind off study material. Fortunately the current routine has been working well for me so far.

I need sleep.

Operation CWAL

October 16, 2008

Enough time wasted throughout those past years ever since I started off. It’s finally time to make up for the accumulated procrastination and mistakes made in the past and speed everything up through the right path once and for all.

3 years to get things right and it’s either now or never. It’s time to make that change.

On the other hand, Maybank2U just revamped their site. It looks better but it takes ages to load anything up at all via the new interface. Thank goodness they still have their old system running concurrently at the same time or else I won’t be able to perform any transactions at all!

After months of procrastination, 70 at last! Finally one thing off my chest.
